Relaxing day in a small compact town, just what the doctor ordered. Short walk to a cafe for a great filling b'fast w/ Ant Hoohoo. Then hit up the local grocery on the way back to resupply for the next 4-5 days. Back to the inn to organize the food and not long after a local trail angel (there was a list at the hardware store) came knocking on the door. Flip flop had called in hopes of getting a ride to the nearest town w/ a pharmacy in order to have a prescription filled for his GI problems - as a traveling nurse in Oregon he had a doctor friend who could help him out with prescribing something for it. Chris not only gave him a ride but also offered us all the chance to do laundry at her place as well as a place to stay if we needed it! So I tagged along to get to know her and her daughter, Emma, a little better and take her up on her offer of clean clothes :) Sounds like this was their first season of helping out hikers and at one point when the main rush was coming through they hosted THIRTEEN hikers all at once!! ...the hospitality of some of these trail angels to perfect strangers never ceases to amaze... Truly wonderful people. Thank you Chris and Emma :)
Now writing this from the covered patio of the inn which faces the local park where they're having a little league baseball game :) Farmer's market goin on just behind us too. Lovin this nice little town nestled in the forest of these mountains.
