Goodbye Big Bear

Flip Flop and I said our goodbyes to all our fellow hikers - weird to say goodbye or see you later when you're never really sure you'll ever see people again.

Despite the heavy pack, the hiking was fairly easy.
Hiked on and off w/ FlipFlop, but he packs lighter and usually hikes a slightly quicker pace.

Took in some great views of big bear lake, the two towns on its banks, and the big snow-capped peaks behind it all - couldn't help but stop several times just to take it in.

Loved the new lunch choice - flat bread with salami and swiss! :)

Enjoyed an early dinner, got some additional miles in, and took in an amazing sunset. It was a truly moving view... mountains, a see of clouds, the overlapping ridgelines.. Such a great way to end a day :)

A bat swooped down and just over my head just as I was sliding into my bag for the night :)

Lots of stars and a really bright half moon.
