Just to let everyone know - David got into Monson safely on Tuesday afternoon (list of maildrops after Steve's comment posting below). He was calling from a laundromat. The people who run the place leave old clothing in a basket for hikers to put on while they wash their stinky clothes (what a wonderful idea!) - David was in some kind of pj's, I think he said. A guy had just walked in after him and was griping that the only clothes left in the basket were too small for him.... The beginning of the hiking was kind of hard for David to get used to again and like most everywhere right now the heat is high plus the bugs are very vicious day and night. He put on long pants and a long sleeve shirt to help with the biting, but he got some uncomfortable heat rash, so he took a rest day on Wednesday and hit the trail again this morning.
