June 15-16

[ An old post that was in progress.. Couldn't finish it and don't know that I know how to now, but here's what I have ;P ]

An alternating mix of getting chores done and sitting around and relaxing. Don't remember if I've explained what I mean by chores, but there's always a list of things to get done at most town stops. These can include finding a place to stay, showering up, checking in with family, laundry, hitting library to catch up on email and hopefully post pics, coordinating with Peter on mail drops, preparing and going to PO to send my own mail drops, replenishing consumables (alcohol for stove, hand sanitizer, TP, baking soda primarily for brushing teeth, ibuprofin etc.), repairing and replacing gear (water treatment, socks, zip locks, etc.), planning and shopping for food for next section, cleaning gear (wash pot/spoon, water containers, etc.), trying to post to and catch up on blog, and eating pretty much constantly! That's probably a partial list and then keep in mind that we don't have cars! ;P Then trying to find time to relax and stay off of your feet as much as possible is the goal. All the while catching up with, meeting and getting trail news from other hikers. Compact, full-service, hiker-friendly trail towns are thus a real blessing.

Donna Saufley took a group of about five of us to the REI in Santa Clarita and on the way back we all thoroughly enjoyed a stop at In N' Out Burger :) Yum, Love that place!
