last day!

LAST DAY... another crazy one. Hit my last sample sale and picked up a couple things I might actually use on my trip.. Sent out an email to a long list of people I've gotten to know either through working with or playing (soccer) with over the years... Was immediately inundated with responses! Duh... don't know why I wasn't ready for that one. So after trying to reply to a good many of them and realizing I could never get to all of them, I packaged the rest up in an email and sent them to my home account to respond to later. Finished packing up my cube - weird feeling.. as often as we play musical cubes at Nike, we all knew this wasn't the same... had a great time playing my last lunchtime game of soccer as an employee - love that I live so close, because I'll still most likely drop in every now and then to play. Then lastly went through a quick turn-over with Terry - left feeling very incomplete about what I handed over, but I suppose that was inevitable.. and then after some 'sort-of' goodbyes (because I'll still be running the Hood To Coast relay race with a few of my teammates), I took off... with a huge sigh of... I don't know what... relief but probably also a sense of I don't know when it's going to hit me that I no longer have a job... that the last check I just deposited is the last income I'm going to have for quite a while!! I think I was mostly just in a daze though - part because of everything going on in trying to wrap up work, part from all the trip prep thoughts, and part from just lack of sleep over the last week! whatever the reason, leaving was surreal...
