David just checked in from Catawba. He got to the Post Office just in time before they closed at 10:30 am (today is Saturday) to pick up his food for the next 5 days and to mail back some things to us. Between the PO and calling, he had downed a chili dog, bag of chips, xtra large gatorade, big oatmeal cookie and felt quite stuffed but satisfied. Not only was he hungry but just wanted a little change from the food we've been sending.

He's cut off another day from his schedule and in spite of his hiking 20 miles a day now, his feet and legs feel just fine - really sounded in great spirits. Weather is spectacular although today very windy. He hasn't caught up with Foxtrot but is enjoying hiking alone. It seems that he's into his own rhythm.
